This is a very fun activity around holidays. Neighbors love getting packages full of homemade candy :).
1. If you have a double boiler then you have it easy! You just start the almond bark melting on the stove and you can move on to the next step! Otherwise you have to make a quick double boiler. If you don't, it's very easy to burn the chocolate.
So, break up the chocolate and put it in the 2-Quart Saucepan. Fill the Larger Pot about half full of water and start it heating. Place the saucepan into the warming water; no water should get into the 2-quart saucepan. As the water heats it will slowly melt the chocolate in the smaller pan.
2. Now that you have melted chocolate the fun begins! Start with the waxpaper. I usually lay a sheet of it across the bottom of a cookie sheet, but you can just put the paper on your table or counter. It's easier to move around on a cooke sheet though :)
3. Grab a toothpick and jab a strawberry or a marshmalllow with it and dip it in the chocolate. Place it on the Waxpaper and do it again! Once you have a few made you can decorate them with the Candy Sprinkles. Obviously you don't use a toothpick for the pretzels and peanuts, you can just plop them in and fish them out with a fork.
4. Be Creative. Some of the funnest things I've made doing this was chocolate covered plastic spoons! I took white almond bark first and dipped all the spoons with several layers of white. Then I dipped them all in Normal Brown Chocolate. A few sprinkles on top made them into a nice looking, fun-to-eat snack.
5. Candy is best kept in a tupperware in the fridge. Especially if you dipped fruit such as strawberries.
Have fun and be careful not to get burned.
